Assets
Selecting assets
When you create an agent, you specify which assets it should operate on. There are several ways to do this:
- Mention them directly in your description — e.g. "DCA $200 into Bitcoin every Friday".
- Select them in the chat through the Add → Assets button: browse the catalog (10,000+ instruments) and attach them to the conversation.
- Pick them from your broker — if you've connected a platform, you can choose the assets available at that broker.
You can mix asset classes within a single agent: stocks, cryptos, currencies, indices, futures, ETFs, commodities.
Available asset categories
More than 10,000 instruments are available, organized by category:
- Stocks (Apple, Tesla, Nvidia, etc.)
- Cryptos (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc.)
- Currencies (EURUSD, USDJPY, etc.)
- Indices (S&P 500, Nasdaq, CAC 40, etc.)
- Commodities (gold, oil, etc.)
- ETFs
- Futures
The number of assets per agent depends on your subscription plan. See Pricing.
You can browse the full catalog in the Assets section of the sidebar. Every asset has its own page — price, chart, key stats and related news — and you can keep a watchlist of the ones you follow.
Where each asset trades
- In a backtest, you tune the per-asset trading conditions (commission, spread, swap fees, leverage) in the Fees step, so the simulation reflects realistic costs. See Backtest an agent.
- In a demo or live execution, the agent runs on a portfolio. A demo portfolio uses Obside's market data; a real portfolio trades on its connected broker, with that broker's fees and market specifications. See Portfolios and Run an agent.
