Connections

Overview

Connections let you link your Obside account to your brokerage accounts. Once a connection is established, Obside can:

  • Read your balances and positions in real time.
  • Monitor your portfolio and trigger smart alerts.
  • Execute orders (on trading-capable brokers, for US & Canada residents — see Availability by region).

How connections work

Obside connects to your broker through a secure broker portal. You authorize Obside directly with your broker, without ever sharing your password with us — and you can revoke the access at any time, from Obside or from your broker.

Obside never stores your broker password. Connections rely on a secure OAuth-style authorization that you control and can revoke at any time.

Connecting an account is available worldwide. What you can do with it depends on your region and on the broker:

  • Reading balances, positions and history — every connection, everywhere.
  • Live order execution — US & Canada residents, on brokers that support order placement. See Supported brokers for which brokers can trade and Availability by region for the regional rules.

Connecting a broker

You connect an account from Settings → Connections:

  1. Pick your broker from the list of supported platforms.
  2. Follow the broker's secure authorization flow.
  3. Your balances and positions appear in Obside within moments.

You can connect multiple accounts, including several accounts at the same broker.

Use in the chat and in agents

Once an account is connected, you can:

  • Reference its assets in the chat through the Add menu → Connections → choose the account → select its tradable assets.
  • Run an agent on a portfolio backed by that connection.
  • Enable portfolio monitoring on the positions held there.

Multi-account

Depending on your plan, you can connect several accounts and run agents across them. The Free plan allows 1 connection; paid plans allow unlimited connections. See Pricing.
